When you own the shares you are paying yourself with a dividend for owning the stock. People buying $1000’s of shoes and don’t own no stock. Start there!! Invest in what you buy and use. Most people should not be investing into stocks. If you aren’t in a secure career that you love and plan on retiring and building your wealth from; then the highest ROI you can get from your money right now is from investing into yourself to build the skillsets you need to attain that purpose, after that then you build a financial foundation/stability, eliminate your consumer debt, THEN you start investing. If u have a job you don’t like and credit card debt; the last thing u should be doing is looking at Walmart or Tesla stock to save you because odds are something is gonna happen where you’re gonna need to withdraw that money.
I’d Tell that drug dealer to take that 1k and invest into a skillset(CDL school, electrician, plumbing, tech, sales, HVAC whatever) this is gonna keep food on the table and feed your investment account. Unless you coming in playing with hundreds of thousands of dollars and experience; Quitting your job to become a “stock investor” isn’t a real thing
