@seatruth5737
It's the same as home ownership with a 50 year mortgage 😂
@ryansparks8166
Sounds like a man whose never had horrible roommates
@RobertBaker90
I like renting. A lot. I like not having a single to ever worry about ever.
The dryer isn't working in my unit? I'll be fixed Friday.
I hate property tax, roofs that need replaced, main drain lines that break, etc etc.
Very happy to rent and will do it likely the rest of my life.
"Oh you'll never own anything." I don't want to.
@BeyondTheOverton
Because at the end you don’t have equity man once ur done renting ur at scratch once u wanna move you now have a home that could’ve went up 50% in value as they did in 2020-2025. Tell me how on earth renting is better?
@noornasri5753
These calculators always assume some investments in place of the bills. They leave out the goal setting and urgency of having a big mortgage to pay off, the value of setting your roots and your peace of mind.
Also, breaking even in 30 years is totally fine. Then you don't have to pay rent in 2055, just imagine those prices.
@ericbreckenkamp976
It’s not for the money, it’s for safety and your children’s quality of life.
@SaigonTea
Lower your rent cost. If that means roommates, so be it. Owning means you have to pay 0 in rent. Are you confident enough to do what’s necessary to get a house?
@noneofyourbusiness6519
Coming from a guy with rental properties
@2hollisfansacramento
Spoken like a true landlord
@chrisnvestor
He’s right.
@jtcintl4373
Families NEED to be closer together
@McDonut24
Why do you need to rent? Save it cost and live out of the car
@TheOldGuardHouse
Stupid advice.. eventually people will have enough of this bullshit & stop paying rent all together..
@jovannikolic8032
Yeah let’s all never get married or have kids and live with roommates, i am sure that’s a great idea 🙂↕️
@MrNintoku
I hate living with room mates. I would rather own a home and rent each room out. Cause if one of my room mates pisses me off I can kick them out.
@chellenberg
And this situation was created by the hedge funds and investment firms buying up houses at 20% above cost to take key properties from people and drive property values through the roof, tipping the market to raise value and make purchasing out of reach for regular people. Mark my words, this was orchestrated by the rich to turn the US into a rental agency that prints money. If homes are not taken back from these corporations, hedge funds and investment firms, its only a natter of time before America becomes a hotel run by the rich. That is the true death of America no one is paying attention to and its almost too late to stop it.
@DonovanChaseB
A landlord, from California, telling you to rent. Noooo, it can’t be.
@dionsoylopayne7054
An other interpretation: housing is unaffordable.
@gahaha8565
Graham owns a ton of rental properties and make the bulk of his income off renting out homes. So I would 100% trust his advice, he knows what he is talking about!
@abdeon2203
Dude looking for renters
@Utobtroll
When the rich landlords are pounding the “rent” drum lol guys buy a house, pay yourselves and unsubscribe from these douche bags
@4tube4567
My periods of highest misery in life were when I was a homeowner.
@yoimiyasimpu8757
Landlord telling us to rent is comedy. I remember when he used to give good financial advice not line his and his buddies pockets
@robrob3402
Nope… I have 3 rentals and make 3k month,,,,n when I sell make over 300k each
@kohei9157
25-30 years to break even? Well after that 25-30 years, I’ll either own a house outright or I won’t. I’ll definitely choose the option that leaves me with a house at the end of the 25-30 years 😂
@Joshpower57
I bought in 2023 and my mortgage is now lower than the rent is.
@malcolmGainsCity504
Of course this is coming from the landlord. Ok how about you go sell all the houses you own and go rent and see how it feels not to own a house 😂 PEOPLE WANT SOMETHING TO PASS DOWN TO THEIR KIDS
@jonathanmosqueda5740
Living with strangers is awful feeling and just weird
@JayHernandez12
Family of 4 needing a roommate that also comes with their spouse and kids don't make much sense to me
@elnino2k
get together with a like-minded roommate, be a minimalist, focus on training and job hoping for growing wages, save and invest.
@Freetheinternet4life
These calculators don’t account for inflation and rent increases of 100% over 5 years 😂.
@eltebux
You know things are bad when someone says “having roommates is underrated”
@banks3388
If renting was really economical nobody would own investment properties.
@fleabag2mr.151
It is cheaper to rent.
@MrJonbc
Bro got lucky buying a couple houses and now been making a fortune pretending to be an expert on the internet.
@abdeon2203
He is telling you to do what is reasonable ‘right now’. Meanwhile he and his rich buddies are doing what will be beneficial in the ‘future’. Think ahead. Times always change.
@Msteve-nt5bx
I dont think Graham is as trustworthy as he seems
@finnlaughman478
One of the most out of fucking pocket takes i've seen him take. It shouldn't take 30 years to break even of buying.
@Tikachu30
The earlier you buy a home the better you’ll be financially. Rent is basically throwing money in the garbage. Most people use the defense that renting is better because you don’t have to do repairs but I feel like that’s not really a good argument at least anymore since most places have rent prices that equal to an mortgage.
As a homeowner now, I feel much better about my living situation even if I’m paying just a bit more monthly. Knowing that the money I’m spending on the house is at least going to come back into my pocket will never top renting.
@jayjeezy4614
If you want to move and sell you get your money back. If you’re renting, money is gone.
@EphReinhard
If you own a house, you can sell it and get the home equity on it even if you haven't finished all your payments. If you own a house and are having a hard time, you can miss up to 4 mortgage payments before a foreclosure process is initiated, and even then, you might get a "deferral" meaning your payments might be granted a pause due to hardships, and you can pay later. If you start to catch up on your payments again, it would be like nothing happened almost, whereas on a rental property, you miss payment by a few days and you might even have late fees already, you might be successfully evicted in less than a couple of months at the longest, and that will show on your record and no one will want to rent to you for that reason. If you own a house you can modify your home, in a rental home you need permission from the landlord. A fixed mortgage never goes up, rent does, sure taxes and other things go up, but nowhere near rent prices in most places. So no, not everyone is a well off college kid willing to live with two other roommates while they move on to something better after their degrees. Americans are living on the now, some barely making it paycheck by paycheck, they have families, lives, a single family home is their best bet for success and living quarters security.
@beth4698
Save and invest and retire in Thailand or Vietnam and us $200-500/mo.
@ronstadt3677
Graham your content is trash now man
@templarof76
This isn’t taking into account the rent going up exponentially over the next 20 years
@thepoliticalhitman
Tell you why when you walk away from your home, you have something; when you walk away from a rental, you have nothing. If you can't own your home, then why own anything?
@LowkeyX6221
Till you realize all that money going towards rent went down the drain and your friends who got houses are sitting on hundreds of thousands even if they put thousands into the house for maintenance. Getting something back is better than getting nothing at all.
@howardchen3456
Says the landlord 😂
@poiklp5615
Nothing like a multimillionaire with 6 houses telling you, you can’t even own 1
@alshami7456
Not everything in life is dollars & cents. Even if it is cheaper..the stability you get from owning your own home & all the other benefits make it actually more expensive to be a renter…
