In this episode of The ThirdLane Podcast, we sit down with Madurai Veeran — investor, market practitioner, and one of the few voices breaking down Indian finance without sugar-coating reality.
From managing his daughter’s portfolio to reallocating capital away from equity before 2026, Madurai Veeran walks us through how money actually behaves — across FDs, bonds, real estate, and Indian markets — and why most retail investors misunderstand risk, safety, and returns.
We dive into:
– How Madurai Veeran allocates money across generations
– What Gen Z gets wrong about investing
– Why celebrities and high-net-worth individuals play a different tax game
– India’s real inflation problem — beyond CPI numbers
– Why fixed deposits quietly fail long-term investors
– How bonds really work (without jargon or myths)
– Secured vs unsecured bonds — risks nobody explains
– Role of credit rating agencies & debenture trustees
– Probability vs severity of investment risk
– The reality of real estate appreciation, loans, and scams
– Repo rate impact on bonds — explained simply
– Why Madurai Veeran believes bonds are misunderstood, not boring
– Practical advice for new investors and people aged 36+
This conversation is not about chasing returns.
It’s about preserving capital, understanding risk, and making decisions that survive time — not trends.

IndiaBonds is a private financial technology company and a SEBI-registered online bond platform provider. It is not an Indian government entity.
Its purpose is to provide a platform where investors can buy various types of bonds, including those issued by the Indian government and private corporations.

Mr Madurai Veeran's story is amazing….he is a self made person. full respect for the discipline and hard work he had put to achieve what he achieved so far… I think we should stop at that… for a India employed person earning in INR these numbers are large and not easily achievable… so Mr Madurai Veeran should avoid boasting about his riches and how successful he is.. everyone has a journey and not all will make the same money..while his story is awesome over doing the boasting part should be avoided….

Sir
@harishm8461
I have a doubt about bonds , as he said bonds with assets will be checked if the asset is 1.5 times the required amount , and it will be checked by a lot of people , why should they do it , what does the one who does all these checks get out of this , how can we trust that they are doing a good job on checking it ?
what if they themselves are corrupted , how should I trust an online platform which is easily manipulatable , this is just a question no offense , Open to any type of answers

@vigneshwaran1516
most of the secured bonds gives return same as FD. MFs, ETFs and gold better options
@melvinlourdes151
Patu sir accusing him of taking money and promoting bonds ..
@pss2978
I agree that buying bonds directly can yield better returns, but it's important to remember that the risk is relatively higher compared to FDs. While FDs offer lower returns, the major difference lies in the safety net; reputable banks act as the backbone of India's economy and the government historically intervenes to protect depositors during losses. That said, diversification is key for long-term growth, and for those prioritizing safety, you can actually cover up to ₹15 lakhs by splitting your FDs across three different banks (₹5 lakh insurance per bank via DICGC)—definitely a point to verify before making a final decision."

@Madurai Veeran you can talk in Tamil no issues, don’t have to struggle so much to project yourself as English literate, only content matters, you can talk confidently in Tamil
@HarishIndia123
Utter nonsense, Rera doesn’t regulate the price
@HarishIndia123
Horrible English … 🥶
@HarishIndia123
Almost 50% information provided here is wrong, he’s misleading by hiding many facts.
@gokulpsgmz1
Madhurai Veeran , don't spread mis information on FD. Bank is helping you to reduce risk by spreading the investment across bonds and absorbing any bond failures. RBI regulates the banks such that big banks never fail. FD is low risk compared to bonds. You are saying buy a bond for 10 % for 10 years (mostly these bonds will have min 5 to 10 lakh capital). If the company fails, you loose every thing. The civil cases run for 20 years before the bank liquidates the assets and gives you money. Pls bring in some one who has seen through bond failures. People who has not seen bond failures (like this person) will spread mis information. bring in Anand srinivasan and Pattu who can tell you what is the risk in bonds vs FD.
@HarishIndia123
This fellow is paid by Wint Wealth app for promotion, highly fraudulent person
@srinibusinessman4523
He is having clear vision and knowledge about finance ❤
@SanjayKumar-t3n1p
I have come to an conclusion that. Bond is a money that we are giving to some people are company as loan in tamil they say as (kadan or vati) called as interest in which our money is purely safe but interest may vary.
@vinodhsastri
This guy will be definitely be banned by SEBI and regulators. Everything he says is false. Bond investments are not as easy as he says. Please consult a financial advisor before taking any calls. He says he is not a financial advisor but you feel that if you dont do what he says you are a failed person.. Mr. Pattu (Freefincl) has put an exclusive video for him
@Ramya-i8f
OMG I can understand All these am just 19😅
