Oil and water just don't mix. How are you gonna get anything from these two "debating"? Neither seem to want to debate, they just don't want to be seen as wrong
No, there are no contemporary, non-biblical, first-hand eyewitness accounts of the crucifixion, and scholars agree the biblical Gospels were written decades after the event, not as personal memoirs. While the Gospels claim eyewitnesses were present, the texts themselves are not direct eyewitness accounts from the authors and were compiled later by various writers who either knew the story or were part of the early Christian communities, notes this Quora discussion.
The four canonical Gospels:
These are the primary sources for the crucifixion story, but their authors are unknown, and they were written many years after the events, making them secondary or even tertiary accounts.
Lack of contemporary evidence:
There are no records from Roman or Jewish authorities or other secular sources that describe the crucifixion. While a Roman historian named Josephus wrote about Jesus, his accounts were written decades after the crucifixion, and the sections mentioning Jesus were likely added later, according to this Stack Exchange article.
Any time Jordan Peterson could be wrong, he just says he “doesn’t know what you mean by that” or “depends on what blank means” or even “define blank.” If he can just reject objectivity, he can never be wrong.
In regards to religion I lost alot of respect for for Jordan. A question is not that difficult to answer. Are you a believer of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. What do you mean believer, what do you mean Jesus Christ and what do you mean Nazareth 😅
I am A Jesus believer, but this kid is my favorite atheist. He knows the Bible better than some self proclaimed Jesus followers. Embarrassing. He is impressive, kid just needs the Holy Spirit to transform him like He did to Paul the apostle
People who think he’s dodging the question don’t truly understand the way he speaks and the meaning behind his words. I think most people don’t even know what the “mean” actually means quote on quote. Jesus rising from the dead isn’t something you can just refer or signify to it’s something complex beyond understanding. So of course it’s going to be connected.
In fairness, if I saw someone who I thought died be alive, ressurection is not necessarily my first thought. Trick, lie, omission, mistake – thats what I would think
Jewsus never rose from the dead. Of course he never rose from the dead, a story told by cult women. The tomb owner threw out the corpse and left the stone rolled away to get the stink out of his tomb. No one mentioned Jewsus because at that time there was a messiah a month, to save them from Roman occupation. JEWSUS was executed for his crime of mayhem in the temple,not because of his laughable claim of divinity.
The thing about people who believe in god is that they can’t stand the idea that they’ve been wrong all their lives. Imagine being duped your entire life, unimaginable to the god squad.

Why do people take this guy seriously?
@jorexthox4330
He DIED on the CROSS … no joke… hundreds of witnesses saw him Crucified… HE DIED. Period.
Did he LIVE after death??? YES… his soul and spirit were and are still alive. 😮
People also SAW him ALIVE. 😮

JP sucks I can’t believe I thought he was the man for 10 minutes

Peterson is a very slippery person; to protect his word salad gibberish he never speaks clearly. Obfuscations is his chief mode of speech.

Jordan talks about the bible like when you try to recall a drunken evening with the boys. It's really weird tbh.
@jamestown4867
Spaghetti and meatballs along with the salad, Jordan.
This is what I don’t t like about you. Ok, you’re afraid to lose the Christian base but it seems to me you’re a near atheist agnostic.
“Religion Poisons Everything…”
Hitch is right.
