Here’s how I’m going to make $700 by selling a covered call on Amazon:
1. Pick a stock I’m okay holding long-term—I’m choosing Amazon and buying 100 shares. 2. Go to Trade then Trade Options
3. Set the expiration date—I’ll select a 30-45 day expiration and make sure my toggles are on. Since I’m willing to sell at $235 per share, I’ll choose a $235 strike price.
4. Sell 1 contract for around $725—I’ll hit Review and Submit.
Here’s the deal:
– If Amazon stays below $235 by expiration, I keep the $725 in premium and my 100 shares.
– If Amazon goes above $235, I sell my shares at $235, making $200 in capital gains plus keeping the $725 premium.
Either way, it’s a win!
This was a strategy I used back when I was a public school teacher and wanted to make additional income, and you can too!

You are explaining an investment plan with no real metrics or analysis about the market. Amazon is so big, that you as a small investor has no edge to make money. So pick a better stock based on market perception, not a well known company that already has a monopoly on the market.

Hmm, sorry mate, the problem with your trade. It looks good when you buy a covered call that close to the current price. The premium is high. However, it’s only 2 bucks away. If that stock goes to 240 then you will loose the 5×100 =500 and in the end you will get to keep 700 but lost potential. And not all premiums are that high.
This guy showing here only what he earned from that transaction, but he doesn’t not tell the real truth money investment worth here. AMZN $221 today, 100 shares around $22k, first need $22k for buy the 100 shares. Oh damn, excellent story Mr.Public school teacher. May this story suits only people are having money like $22k. Haha
I just started, I'm on 'dollar stocks' so I'm making between $2 and $35 (the most) it's not much, the knowledge and experience is worth it, until I can get my license and do this for people with a bank roll, I'll hone the craft.
