Mark Baum in real life was the biggest scammer of them all lol funny how this movie made him out to be a good guy when he was one of the main swindlers of the 2008 crisis
This scene represents what Steve Carrell said at the beginning of the movie. Something big is happening and no one is paying attention. They’re talking about something serious and everyone else is laughing having a good time
Don't worry, it's happening all over again. Housing, AI, everything is leading down the same road, only people are already poor and have nothing. We'll basically just be left to rot at the end of this.
3 kind of teams win – 1) Experienced coach, experienced team – City, Inter 2) Experienced coach, inexperienced team – PSG, Barca 3) Inexperienced Coach, experienced team – Bayern, Liverpool, RM
And then there is Chelsea – Inexperienced team, Inexperienced Coach And then we wonder why we are the way they are….
I see the banks get blamed, and they were certainly complicit, but it wasn't their fault. While absolutely greedy, the banks had standards in place to limit their liabilities. That's why you typically needed 20% down and good credit. It wasn't until the government got involved and told the lenders to relax their standards to allow "underprivileged" buyers to buy houses, while also guaranteeing the losses, that the SHTF. It's like taking a degenerate gambler to Vegas, giving him your ATM card, and telling him to go nuts!
@kentmora9529
One of the great sleeper films.
@davidhason7017
No one wanted to believe the banks were actually that bad, and actually that greedy.That's what caused the housing collapse in 2008
@kaukase539
Imagine the moment you realize, you could make a billion dollar!

And then there’s the moment this guy dares to justify it by saying “How about I tell you my net worth and then you tell me yours.” 😱

It's the best movie out of the subprime crisis trilogy being , margin call , the big short and too big to fail
@OffGridInvestor
And after this, I can't remember but I think the asian guy says the market believes him more because he's paid more than Mark.

Mark Baum is actually Steve Eisman. The other guy at the table is Wing Chau.
