Dividend stocks are underrated.

Nearly 40% of the averaged gains from S&P 500 companies were through dividend stocks!

In this video, we’ll show you how to take advantage of this and skyrocket your portfolio.

Two not mentioned. Dividend comes OUT of the stock price. So, you are simply losing future investment growth for the sake of today’s money.

You could just sell the shares that money.

Dividends are taxed so in the long run, the same stock, one that distributes and another that doesn’t, will be better off the one that does not pay dividends.

I am not saying dividends are bad, just saying they are a strategy for people eho already have a lot of money and want constant payments.

It made up 40% of the return because historically stocks paid a 4-6 percent dividend growth was limited and buybacks were illegal

Nowadays the best companies pay little or no dividend and returns come from buybacks and growth

Im into dividend investing, currently at 1008$ per month. The reason why it’s so powerful is that no matter how much money my wife spends on useless stuff, I always have at least 1000$ to spend on any ETF ☝️ every single month

Excellent points! I only buy stocks that pay dividends. I might change that in the future, but it’s hard to pass up on that relatively reliable income.

Interesting video! It's not a very well know stock but I recommend investing in Pennantpark Floating Rate Capital Ltd (PFLT) They pay a nice monthly dividend and the dividend yield is 12:12%

I started investing in dividends with my taxable account. I used the buy and hold strategy in my Roth, adding some Berkshire B stock, SCHD, and an S&P 500 and total market exchange-traded fund.

A more realistic pizza metaphor is when a pizza company says “would you like a free piece of pizza?” after you just bought a pizza. You say “sure!” And they reach into the box of pizza you just bought, and had you your own piece of pizza- the slice you already own.

I’m astounded at how much ignorance there is surrounding dividends when Google is just a click away. Dividends DO NOT increase your net worth! It is not free money. It’s like giving your left hand a buck, paid out of your right hand. It was already your money. The stock value drops by the EXACT amount as the dividend amount.

All investing is dividend investing. Either you get paid dividends now, or sometime in the future. If the firm will never pay a dividend, its stock is worth nothing.

Yeah but are you talking about investing in a company like JNJ or are you talking about an ETF ?
    Big difference .
Obviously one company is a huge risk because of the stock price .
Thanks so much for the video . Nice job

Imagine thinking paying 0 tax is a good thing. You made jack that why you’re paying nothing. You want to be in the highest bracket period.

it isn't capital gains it is qualified dividends which is taxed at a lower tax rate.

This reasoning is so flawed. First dividend investing is overrated. So many people chase yoelds and focus on dividends at the expense of overall portfolio growth. And they do it using the flawed sleight of hand used in this video. Yes dividends are part of an overall investment strategy but they shouldn't be an investor's primary focus. The focus should be investing in a portfolio of strong stocks whether they're index or individual stocks. Indexes that focus on dividend yields usually lag behind indexes that just focus on overall portfolio growth and not by an insignificant amount. Both the s&p 500 and a totl market index like VTI always outperform dividend focused indexes like SCHD. And since most investors plan to stay invested for life that difference is magnofied over time.

Additionally dividedends dictate when you have to pay taxes…which is the year they're issued. Growth stocks do not and you decide when you want to sell some shares and how much . Anyone that asks i tell them focus on overall growth and company or index fund strength. Don't chase dividends.

Why leave the money in a company? Maybe for the exact reason you invested in it in the first place 🙄
