The stock market is definitely picking up pace right now, but I still think investors should be careful at this time. I'm actually a newbie in this space, so I'm open to hearing other investors' take on this.
After 10 years of putting nothing in my Vanguard account, I finally took the plunge and bought VOO not long before the weekend. I know there will probably still be some volatility, but even in the last few days, the value of the account has gone up so Iโve gotten reinforced. I already actually have investments with advisors, but Iโm trying to get the evidence that I can do just about as well on my own and start moving things over being sure to match account types so I donโt get charged tax when I donโt need to. I know when youโre young. Itโs hard to imagine life decades later but the earlier you start, the less you have to put in. You probably donโt have $6000 when youโre young but just as an illustration, I heard a presentation yesterday on a vanguard video. The guy got a graduation gift decades ago and bought gold. $6000 of gold bought in around 1980 would be worth around $19,000 now. The same amount of money put into an index fund, dividends, reinvested , and not touched in the same amount of time would now be worth about $950,000. That includes a few years of losing a lot, but the market recovered. If I had understood this early on, I mightโve avoided doing some kinds of work that I really hated, but that I felt compelled to do in order to make sure I had a retirement. I wouldโve made sure to invest that money earlier and just let it ride. Iโm OK now financially, but I worried a lot and really suffered in my work for about 20 years. I definitely worked longer than that, but not all the jobs were a stressful. But not earning very much was also stressful.
Iโve been saving instead of investing, and I currently have around $516k which Iโm unsure how to grow it into something significant for retirement. Iโm looking for ideas.

I anticipate positive growth in the markets for 2025, and I'm considering investing $220k in stocks for my retirement plan due to recent rate cuts. Could you provide guidance on executing this investment safely? Additionally, are there any crucial tips or changes I should be mindful of in the current financial landscape?
80% equities 20% cash. I plan to take advantage of the s&p 500 as leading indicators predict a bullish stock market, my only issue is how to properly allocate a large stock/bond portfolio. Case in point: $500,000

I' ve got ยฃ100k to invest. I want to build a nest egg for when I'm older. I want to know if it's a good idea to add all my savings into a long term ETF, set and forget Come back in 20-30 years, instead of 250-300 DCA every month. Which ETF would you recommend.?
The most popular investment portfolio strategies include diversification, where you spread investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. Finally, there's the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.
I started investing because I liked the extra money from stock dividends. The key, in my opinion, is to make enough money through both investing and dividends, so you can live off the dividends without selling anything. This way, you might pass on this financial advantage to your kids. I've put more than 100K into dividend stocks over the years, and I'm still buying more, planning to keep going until prices drop more.
Target date accounts have terrible returns!! if youre young, its much better to invest in ETFs and Mutual Funds with a low or 0 expense ratio, especially ones in Tech provide high retruns ! a safe bet is one that is highly rated by Morning Star
Iโm tired of spinning my wheels. ๐ Iโve lost money, time, and confidence trying to figure it out alone. I donโt need another lecture or PDF. I need someone real, trading live with me, showing the moves step by step, helping me finally get consistent wins.

I was tired of being inspired. I wanted instructions.
A friend I respect sent me a book and said, โThis wonโt hype you up, itโll wake you up.โ
It was called Girl Boss Hustle: Earn 10k From Home.
I almost ignored it โ the title felt like a gimmick.
But I read it. Twice. And thenโฆ I started applying.
Things didnโt explode. They shifted. And that was enough.
